Life of Action in Fighting Spirit Magazine

If you, too, were getting your pro wrestling fix in the January 2018 issue of Fighting Spirit Magazine, you may have spotted Life of Action and Scott Adkins‘ unmistakeable character, Yuri Boyka, within the pages of the magazine. As I work on the upcoming second volume, with more news to follow soon, this was a great boost and motivation to see! Fighting Spirit Magazine remains the UK’s only monthly magazine dedicated exclusively to pro wrestling and mixed martial arts, and covers both …

Kung Fu Movie Guide Christmas

I was very happy to join Ben at Kung Fu Movie Guide Podcast for a special end of year show to wrap up 2017. We are discussing the year’s top martial arts movie news and running down our best (and worst) films of the year and exchanging presents. As teased in this picture, listen to find out who gave the other Hwang Jang Lee’s Hard Bastard as a gift, and what else was featured in the stocking. It’s a great podcast …

Life of Action has 10,000 Facebook fans

Life of Action has now gained over 10,000 fans on Facebook! This is amazing news and I’d like to say a huge thank you to our supporters around the world. It’s a great testament to the book itself, but also a true sign of appreciation to the men and women who work tirelessly to bring us these action and martial arts genre films. The book was always about getting under the skin of this incredible work and learning what it …

I’ll be introducing a screening of Andy Lau’s Shock Wave Tunnel at MCM London Comic Con. Cine Asia and MCM London Comic Con are proud to give fans one last chance to see explosive Hong Kong action/thriller Shock Wave Tunnel on the big screen before its home entertainment release. Officer Cheung (Andy Lau, Infernal Affairs, House of Flying Daggers, The Great Wall), a senior inspector in the Hong Kong Police Force, is the most respected member of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit. The Stolen panel at MCM London Comic Con

I’ll be hosting an exclusive cast and filmmaker panel for new western adventure, The Stolen at MCM London Comic Con. The film is in UK cinemas from 3rd November 2017, with worldwide release to follow soon. Eden Gray Premiere

I had a great time at the premiere screening of new action short, Eden Gray. I coordinated the fight action with my good friend and co-fight choreographer Francois Mequer (Tensions, Unleashed). Afterwards I took part in a Q&A alongside (left to right in picture) producer R.E. Wolfe, actress Mhairi Calvey, writer/director Ty Samuels, actor Keith Porter and actor/host Timothy Hofmeier. In the story, soldier Eden Gray becomes the target of a shadow agency when she escapes a facility after being subjected …

I presented the award for ‘Best Action Choreography’ to Express Delivery, while further awards went to Blindsided for ‘Best Short’ …

Filming The Marshlands

I have recently been working on the pilot for new TV series The Marshlands. This exciting new concept explores a dystopian future in which the effects of climate change have altered our planet dramatically. This story was inspired by the ongoing issue of global warming and its potential impact on the world as we know it. The series delves into the lives of those inhabiting this new world, and how they have had to adapt to survive. I stunt coordinated the fight action …

Simon West in Life of Action 2

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of 90’s action classic Con Air, I took the opportunity to proudly announce British director Simon West in my next book, Life of Action 2. He reflects and shares great stories on this epic feature debut, and his vast career over the years spanning The Expendables 2, The Mechanic, Wild Card, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and developing and producing Black Hawk Down. He says: “I didn’t really know anything about action. I grew up watching the films of Stanley Kubrick, Francis Ford Coppola, David …

We had a brilliant time and the film looks fantastic. The trailer should be online soon so everyone else can check it out. Thank you so much to the …

Essential Action Movie Books

It’s a real honour for Life of Action to be included in The Action Elite‘s recently compiled “Essential Action Movie Books” in very good company. Some excellent titles are featured elsewhere in this list so it’s a very kind gesture. Thanks guys! “Until recently there had never really been that many books about action movies; it was always a genre that critics scoffed at and never gave it the respect it was due, despite the fact it’s the most popular movie genre …

This photo features myself with multi-talented action star and filmmaker Michael Jai White (The Dark Knight, Black Dynamite, Blood and Bone) who is involved in the next book. The accompanying caption reads… “Life of Action Vol. 2 spoiler alert! Very early days but things are progressing. Thanks for all your …
