Fighting Spirit Film Festival 2019
The Fighting Spirit Film Festival is back with a very strong lineup of films and, after the great response to my seminar last year, this year I will be hosting another free, even more interactive event with special guests joining me from the UK action scene.
It takes place on 7th-8th September at Stratford East Picturehouse in London.
This lineup includes big screen premieres of director Jesse V. Johnson's The Mercenary (aka Legion Maxx) starring Dominiquie Vandenberg (Pit Fighter, Triple Threat) and Louis Mandylor (The Debt Collector, Martial Law), Vietnamese action thriller Loi Bao and special screenings of genre classics, Dragons Forever and Hero. There will also be a great official selection of short films and documentaries, with awards presented in a range of categories.
For my seminar on Sunday 8th September, the website describes:
"Life Of Action' author Mike Fury presents a special seminar and speaks to some of the UK's rising stars and filmmakers on how to design high-calibre action and fight scenes for film. The panel includes Jean-Paul Ly (Nightshooters, Hobbes and Shaw), Matt Routledge (Tribal-Get Out Alive, Accident Man), Zara Pythian (Tribal - Get Out alive, Doctor Strange), and Dan Styles (Avengement, Accident Man). Together, they will guide you through their process, share and demonstrate practical examples, and offer advice based on their own experience.
This interactive seminar is free for festival-goers, so don’t miss out!
About the festival:
Through martial arts cinema we aim to entertain and inspire people, promote martial arts culture, and support those who have chosen it as a career. We hope that by making this an annual event that it will help create a stronger market for martial arts and action films, support and grow the legacy of films in the genre gone before and continue to entertain, inspire, amaze and enlighten audiences.
