Filming The Marshlands
I have been working on the pilot for new TV series The Marshlands. This exciting new concept explores a dystopian future in which the effects of climate change have altered our planet dramatically. This story was inspired by the ongoing issue of global warming and its potential impact on the world as we know it. The series delves into the lives of those inhabiting this new world, and how they have had to adapt to survive.
I stunt coordinated the fight action and enjoyed collaborated with a talented team who worked hard to deliver this inventive, ambitious concept which will be very cool to see. It's been a great experience working with director Darren Bransford and the ensemble cast including Michael Redmond (Vikings), Mia McKenna-Bruce (Tracy Beaker), Katherine Scott-Williams and many more. We have a great team, see below for more on the lineup.
[From the announcement]
The Marshlands world has been written and created by Katherine Scott-Williams:
"I have always loved the fantasy and sci-fi genres. The exciting and unknown worlds that can be created and explored, especially now in episodic TV. In writing The Marshlands, however, I hope not only to entertain, but also to bring to light the severity of current issues in our world today. In particular, global warming. The Marshlands is not intended to scaremonger or preach, instead it offers up one possibility of what our lives may become if the current climate crisis continues."
Joining Katherine as a Producer on The Marshlands is Mehdi Haghzare. He has recently finished working on Season 2 of hit French Television series Le Bureau Des Legendes, starring Mathieu Kassovitz, currently available on Netflix.
We are delighted to announce that our hour-long pilot episode for The Marshlands is directed by award-winning Darren Bransford. During a career in the Film & Television industry spanning over 25 years, Darren has worked on major international productions for Paramount Pictures, Lionsgate and Sony Pictures, on U.S. Television, and for high profile British TV series on BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky Television. He has also worked alongside the likes of Oscar winning actor F. Murray Abraham (Best Actor, Amadeus), the legendary Jean Marsh (Willow; creator of Upstairs, Downstairs) and The Descent director Neil Marshall to name but a few.
Our wonderful concept art has been designed by the incredibly gifted artist Laurie Greasly, and we are thrilled to have him on board The Marshlands. Laurie's previous work includes official commissions for major Hollywood studios such as Disney (Inside Out, Big Hero 6), 20th Century Fox (Deadpool) and most recently for X-Men: Apocalypse. His work has drawn attention worldwide, including that of Hollywood Director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and Hollywood Actor Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man, The Avengers).
