From Life of Action II…
Born in Sweden in 1979, acclaimed fight choreographer and stuntman Tim Man is steadily rising through the ranks as one of the top names in action design.
Practising martial arts at six years old, the traditional arts offered a launchpad for Tim’s training which has grown ever since. He became a three-time Taekwondo champion and placed third in a World Championship competition at the age of 15.
Nurturing an early love for Hong Kong action cinema, he began gymnastics, acrobatics and tricking, which he still practises to this day. His training is still hugely varied and intensive and runs parallel to his tireless work in movies.
From an early stunt apprenticeship to leaving and working in Thailand, his career story shows consistency and drive. He is now best known as a regular collaborator with action star Scott Adkins on movies like Ninja: Shadow of a Tear, Eliminators, Boyka: Undisputed, Accident Man and Triple Threat. Other notable credits include Ong Bak 2, Kill ’em All, Acts of Vengeance and the very first Italian martial arts action comedy, Una vita da sogno.
Developing complex, dynamic action while maintaining the clean shooting style of the 1970s and 80s, Tim’s work brings an old school sensibility to modern filmmaking. He also researches, trains multiple times a day and shoots film quality pre-viz to keep his action fresh and inventive. From working on international movies to commercials, TV shows, video game motion capture and music videos, his journey shows constant evolution.
