Fighting Spirit Film Festival 2020
Despite 2020 being a year none of us wanted, fortunately the Fighting Spirit Film Festival is back. This time it will be held at Premiere Cinema in Romford and tickets can be booked for December.
I’ve been a judge for the festival awards since their very first event in 2016 and I enjoy seeing a wide variety of short films from talented new filmmakers and future genre stars. I knew this year would feel different considering the strange period we find ourselves in, but it’s great to have a positive, inspiring event such as this to socialise safely and be entertained together. Hats off to the festival team for all their hard work as always, making it all possible.
This year the lineup includes the usual selection of shortlisted short films, the UK premiere of ambitious British action/horror film Tribal: Get Out Alive, acclaimed Korean martial arts feature Fighter in the Wind, plus a special trilogy screening and seminar of Dead End, three great short films centred around assassins. It’s a quality lineup not to be missed.
About the festival:
Through martial arts cinema we aim to entertain and inspire people, promote martial arts culture, and support those who have chosen it as a career. We hope that by making this an annual event that it will help create a stronger market for martial arts and action films, support and grow the legacy of films in the genre gone before and continue to entertain, inspire, amaze and enlighten audiences.
